Invitation to the SKIMA Invited Session – UK-ASEAN Collaboration on AI-Enabled Healthcare Research and Innovation using Wearable Technologies Organized By: Hongnian Yu, Edinburgh Napier University

We are pleased to invite you to participate in an invited session at the 16th International IEEE Conference on Software, Knowledge, Information Management & Applications (SKIMA). This session, titled “UK-ASEAN Collaboration on AI-Enabled Healthcare Research and Innovation using Wearable Technologies,” aims to explore the transformative impact of cutting-edge technologies such as AI, robotics, IoMT, and blockchain on the healthcare sector. Topics of Interest:

  1. Integration of Wearable Technologies and AI: Investigating how wearable technologies combined with AI can enable continuous health monitoring, accurate diagnosis, and personalized healthcare services, with a particular focus on addressing the specific challenges in the ASEAN region.
  2. UK-ASEAN Interdisciplinary Collaborations: Promoting collaborative efforts between UK and ASEAN healthcare professionals, researchers, technology experts, policymakers, and practitioners to drive innovation in AI-enabled healthcare.
  3. Skill Enhancement for Digital Health Transformation: Equipping participants from the UK and ASEAN with the necessary skills to effectively apply wearable technology and AI in healthcare, preparing them for the digital health transformation.
  4. Amplifying Global Impact and Innovation: Enhancing the global influence and innovative capabilities of the UK and ASEAN R&D sectors in AI-integrated healthcare by encouraging the cross-pollination of ideas and collaborative research efforts.
  5. Advancements in Personalized Medicine: Exploring the potential of AI and genomics in creating tailored treatments and personalized healthcare solutions for patients in the ASEAN region.
  6. Improving Patient Care with Robotics and IoMT: Examining how robotics and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) can enhance patient care and healthcare delivery in the UK and ASEAN countries.
  7. Optimizing Hospital Operations with Smart Technologies: Utilizing smart technologies to improve the efficiency of hospital operations, resource management, and patient outcomes in both the UK and ASEAN regions.
  8. Ensuring Data Security and Privacy: Addressing the challenges of maintaining patient data privacy and security using blockchain and advanced cybersecurity measures in AI-enabled healthcare systems.
  9. Human-Centric and Ethical Approaches: Balancing technological advancements with patient-centered care, ensuring that innovations in AI and wearable technologies are implemented ethically and with a focus on improving patient well-being.
